Orchestra
The 14 fret to the body orchestra model was created by Martin in the 1930’s. It has become one of the most iconic acoustic guitar body styles of all time. With its smaller body size, it is more comfortable to play for extended periods of time than a larger bodied guitar. It has balanced response with clear highs, rich midrange and defined lows. The Orchestra model has become the preferred choice for fingerstyle guitarists.
My Orchestra model has a slightly more rounded profile. I make the body three eighths of an inch deeper than a standard orchestra model to further enhance the bass and mids. Paired with an arm bevel this guitar is extremely comfortable to play. I also make a short scale version like the Martin OOO for those that want the ease of play of the lower tension short scale length.
